MIT apologizes, permanently pulls offline huge dataset that taught AI systems to use racist, misogynist slurs

MIT has issued an apology and has permanently removed a massive dataset containing 80 million images used by researchers developing object detection algorithms. This move came after it was revealed that some images within the dataset that depicted women and visible minorities were labelled with derogatory language and racial slurs.
