OTTAWA, ONTARIO, CANADA – September 22, 2017: Contextere announced today its selection to the Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) in New York City. A program designed for high potential Canadian companies to accelerate growth in one of the fastest growing technology hubs in North America, the CTA provides contextere with access to a vibrant ecosystem of technology companies, and potential clients and partners.

The CTA program is the second New York-based technology accelerator program that contextere has been selected to participate in over the last 12 months. The first was an Urban-X Smart City Program that included equity investments from BMW Mini and SOSV. It focused on collaboration opportunities with BMW industrial designers and software UI experts and provided contextere with critical insight into the challenges and opportunities associated urban hyper-growth.

“As an emerging leader in the industrial software space, contextere is eager to harness the resources provided by the CTA program to fuel our growth momentum and build on everything we achieved during the Urban X Smart City Program,” says Gabe Batstone, contextere CEO. “The CTA program allows us the opportunity to continue to engage with industry experts and Fortune 500 companies as we work to become the leading provider of Blue Collar AI.”

The US$4.5 billion in venture funding raised by the technology ecosystem in New York enables the CTA program to facilitate introductions to industry experts and host workshops on a broad range of topics to increase and expand industry knowledge. For contextere, an emerging AI company with software that has application across a broad range of industry sectors including, aerospace & defense, oil & gas, power & utilities, and smart city initiatives, the CTA program in NYC represents an opportunity to build more relationships with a diverse base of potential clients.

“The Canadian Technology Accelerator is the landmark program run by the Government of Canada’s Trade Commissioner Service,” says Phyllis Yaffe, Consul General of Canada in New York. “It is an impressive accomplishment to be selected. Entrepreneurs like ‎contextere are helping make Canada a leading technology exporter.”
